Perry & the Posse are live from Blue Note Hawaii, Mother's Day Weekend! Broadcasting live from the venue, the hosts enjoy breakfast, talk story and interview special guests throughout the morning. The show is capped off with a closing set from American Idol Star Jasmine Trias!

  • Perry & The Posse

    Michael W. Perry is one of the most recognized and respected names in the Hawai‘i Broadcast industry. Perry received his B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University in 1969. He then served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Pacific Submarine Force. In 1972 he made Hawai`i his home.  He spent 11 years as Hawai‘i’s number one Afternoon Radio Personality before teaming up with Larry Price for the popular Perry and Price Morning Show.

    From 1980 to 2008, Mike was the Executive Producer and Host of the award-winning Hawaiian Moving Company, which highlighted the talents and accomplishments of Hawai‘i residents here in the Islands, and around the world. The Hawaiian Moving Company was Hawai‘i’s longest-running TV program and one of America’s highest rated local TV shows.

    Perry does numerous local, national, and international TV and Radio commercials, and has appeared in several national television shows including Hawaii 5-0, Jake and the Fatman, Unsolved Mysteries, Blood and Orchids.  He has appeared in movies, as well, including Molokai: The Father Damien Story, and Princess Ka`iulani.
     
    He devotes much of his time to public service, particularly to support the efforts of the REHAB Hospital of the Pacific (where he is Chairman of the Board of the REHAB Foundation), the Takitani Foundation, the Sony Open, Friends of Hawaii Charities, and Castle Medical Center.
     
    He is married, has three children and nine grandchildren, and lives in Kailua.
     
    Sweetie Pacarro, producer of the KSSK Saturday Morning Show started her career in broadcasting as an intern for KHON2 TV and has been with KSSK since 1990. She also served as the Kraft Foods Hawaii spokesperson in TV and radio commercials for over 20 years.
     
    Sweetie is active with the KSSK Coach of the Week program honoring ILH/OIA coaches. She presents the awards at assemblies across the island.
     
    Her busy schedule includes participation in a wide variety of community efforts such as the annual Hawaii Foodbank Drive, the Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon, and the Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure.”  A daughter and wife of U.S. Veterans, Sweetie is proud to serve on the Board of Advisors for U.S. VETS. She also coordinates the iHeartMEDIA “Show Your Stripes” program in Hawai`i, pairing businesses with Veterans seeking employment. She is a member of the Saint Louis School Board of Trustees and the Ma`ema`e Elementary School Foundation.
     
    Sweetie received a BA in Communications from Chaminade University in Honolulu, has three children and two grandchildren.
     
    Karen Keawehawai‘i
    If it’s possible for someone to be humble and proud at the same time, Karen Keawehawai‘i is that person.  Whether seated in the garage that doubles as her rehearsal room surrounded by drying laundry, or on stage at a Waikiki Hotel spilling out homespun humor, the Hawai`i-born entertainer boasts a commanding, almost stately presence. Karen Keawehawai‘i is a mother of four, grandma, a proud Hawaiian and, just-by-the-way, an exceptionally talented entertainer.
     
    Karen began singing with The Kaleos during her senior year at Farrington High School, then joined The Laughing Kahunas her freshman year at the University of Hawai`i.
    She was a featured performer in the famed Al Harrington Show at the Hilton Dome for years, and her career has flourished ever since.
     
    Over the years, she has become an integral part of the KSSK Saturday Morning Show, also sharing her talents as a soloist with The Royal Hawaiian Band. In 2018, she was inducted into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame. Karen is married, lives in Honolulu, and loves taking care of her six grandkids.

  • Henry Kapono

    Henry Kapono rose to immense popularity with the phenomenon of Cecilio & Kapono (aka C&K) as half of the duo with Cecilio Rodriguez. They helped forge the sound of ‘70s Island music with laid-back contemporary rock that voiced the feelings of an entire generation in Hawai‛i. Today, he is one of Hawai‘i’s most popular recording artists and presides over Kapono Inc, one of Hawai`i's top multi-function entertainment companies.  Kapono is equally known for his community support and philanthropic endeavors, launching the Henry Kapono Foundation in 2018, whose mission is to "Support the music and arts community and by giving with AlohaTo Support and Empower Hawai'i's Music Industry to Thrive Through Programs, Grants, Education & Resources.”  Native Hawaiian Kapono is a Grammy-nominated, multiple award-winning singer and songwriter and the winner of 21 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards (Hawai‛i’s “Grammy's"). He has been honored with the public vote of the 2021 Favorite Entertainer of the Year

  • Hawaiian Style Band

    In the early '90s, Hawaiian Style Band, led by Bryan Kessler and Wade Cambern, redefined contemporary Hawaiian music. They are credited with launching a fresh musical perspective on local culture with original compositions about living Hawaiian style; island romance, talking story, 'ohana, and sovereignty. Kessler and Cambern are credited with writing & producing Hawaiian Style Band's first three albums and their interpretation of Hawaiian language songs reacquaints music fans with these important compositions and have resulted in multiple Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards.

    Recreating the magic, award winning and female voice of Hawai'i - Robi Kahakalau, joins the multi-talented Bryan and Wade in delivering this distinctive vocal harmony of Hawaiian Style Band in this exclusive and intimate show.

    ABOUT THE HAWAIIAN STYLE BAND MUSICIANS

    Robi Kahakalau, a multiple Nā Hōkū Hanohano award winner, including Female Vocalist, is one of Hawai'i's most recognized and distinctive voices that has her highly sought after as featured guest vocalist more often than any Hawaiian recording artist.

    While immediately recognizable as Robi's duet partner in on of Hawai'i’s most beloved songs, "Love and Honesty," Wade Cambern is a multi-nominated and award winning Nā Hōkū Hanohano musician, composer and lyricist who has collaborated with many of Hawai'i's iconic musical figures, including Israel Kamakawiwo'ole with whom he and Bryan cowrote "Living In A Sovereign Land."

    As a highly respected Producer and guitar player, Nā Hōkū Hanohano winner Bryan Kessler has developed and performed on multiple albums in Japan and Hawai'i. He was also a contributor to the album, “Slack Key Volume 2” which earned Hawai'i its first Grammy Award.

  • ANDY BUMATAI

    Andy Bumatai has been a comic & businessman in Hawai'i for over 35 years. He's owned a nightclub, a chain of cell phone stores and an interest in one of the original ISPs in Hawai'i.

    Starting in Hawaiʻi, where he is a comedy icon, he has traveled extensively as a headliner in comedy clubs across America and as an opening act, on tour, with some of the biggest names in show business including Tom Jones, Paul Anka, Kenny Loggins The Beach Boys and Lionel Richie.

    From 2007 to 2009 Andy produced and hosted a prime time talk show seen five nights a week in Hawaiʻi. For the last 5 years he’s been the host and producer of a number of weekly Hawai’i TV shows including “In The Car” “Toolin’ Around” and “The Weekly Daily Pidgin.” Recently Andy and shifted his focus to online only creating YouTube channels for “Toolin’ Around with Andy Bumatai” and “The Daily Pidgin with Kaleo Pilanca.

  • Irie Love

    Irie Love is a singer and music creator, born and raised in Hawaii, who's been singing and sharing her gifts around the world since 1999. She remains steadfast and rooted in her presentation of her multi-cultural lineage both in her message and her music. This show will be an intimate, uplifting and illuminating musical experience. Showcasing her classic R&B Reggae hits alongside her newly released Afro-pop music with a few special guests! A night of culture, soul and musical exploration. Her goal is to be a ripple, a shift maker and planter of seeds, intended to activate the mind, body and soul to its highest potential through music and movement! 

  • Mindy Smokestack

    Mindy Smokestack comes from Hamburg Germany with a powerful voice and healing energy cultivated through life’s struggles and triumphs. Growing up singing in church instilled her passion for soul music. Mindy’s vocal abilities create her eclectic sound blending Soul, Blues and modern Motown.

  • Ryan Hooley

    Ryan Hooley's musical journey began at the age of 9 when his church leader encouraged him to learn the ukulele, sparking a lifelong passion for music. Inspired by Phillip Phillips' rendition of "Home" at the Olympics, Ryan taught himself guitar, driven by the desire to evoke the same emotions in others.

    Growing up in the local music industry and guided by mentors like renowned musician Brother Noland, Ryan honed his skills and found inspiration in the beauty of Hawaiʻi’s land and ocean.

    In 2024, Ryan released his first self titled album. With his infectious passion for music and dedication to his craft, Ryan's professional musical journey is just beginning.
